Lately very lazy to write my blog, don't know why. I have a few more Yoga Therapy thingy to share.... but lazy to put it in words. See how. Jason is not in town again. The next class is next mth.... hehe.... good after my holiday.
Aiyo, really can’t wait for my holiday! Mauritius!!!! The Ocean! NOT SEA! Mauritius is surrounded by Indian Ocean..... Hehe. Wah...... diving in the Ocean! Think of it I also feel happy liao. I had dive in Central Pacific Ocean in Hawaii…… now is Indian Ocean! My wish is to dive at least once in different Oceans around the world. Wanna to see what’s the different.... hooossh..... Can’t wait. 1 more week too go. Jia You!!!
Mauritius is in winter now..... think of it also feel cold. Although is in winter, but the temp is about 20-22 degree..... similar with Hawaii. So..... that mean the water will be cold......... Alamak..... shiver liao. Weather is cold nevermind….. but strong strong SUN please. As long as there is bright sunlight, weather cold I still can tahan.
South Africa is in winter too...... Haiz...... Not say I hate Winter... But I don’t really like winter as compare to the rest of the seasons ......! Everything cold cold one..... food cold, drink cold, hands cold, legs cold, ear cold...... nothing is warm, don’t like that feeling... hehe... But no choice leh…. Kids holiday over there leh.... What to do....
I am more excited to go Mauritius than South Africa....... can’t wait to see that greenish blue ocean. Oh.... Fishes.... I am here!!! Heard that there is an underwater cliff at Mauritius..... If can dive near the cliff, will be shiok!!! Can see the sudden dropped off of the sea bed. If got the chance I will try it. For diving, I am not afraid of any type of dive….except CAVE dive.... I will never go cave dive... scary!!!
Aiyo... Talk so much... will I still remember how to control my buoyancy? Do I still know how to dive? Have stopped diving since my Phuket trip in early last year (about 1 year 4 mths) leh! Lately also didn’t go for my refresher dive.... hum... Heck! Just dive.... I always believe, once you know certain skills it will inherit in your mind..... Once in the water, the skill will automatically come out so nothing to worry.

Sharing of Yoga Therapy
Things at work go slow again...... so I take up some of the time to write this blog. (I know I shouldn't, but too bore liao) hehe..... Paisei....
Lately, I have been complaining my life is busy in Yoga....... So suddenly, I think of instead of complaining, why not share with you on what I have learnt? I think it would be more meaningful in this way......... So today I will share with you on what I have learnt in Yoga Therapy.
Recently, I take up this informal Yoga Therapy course with a teacher called Jason. Why I say informal? It is because NO certificate for it. NO fixed syllabus. NO notes, we must jot down ourseleve during the class. Not systematic way of teaching but there is a brief guideline of the course. Unknown graduation date; Unknown number of sessions; Unknown years of studying. Classes are onz whenever the teacher is avaliable in Singapore. (like very uncertain right??? Hahaha......) But all this gum me...... suit my style of learning. Tell you why later......
Initially, the course fees is set at about S$50/lesson on Saturday evening 5pm to 7-8pm. But after the 2nd lesson, Jason felt it would be a big amount for him to collect. And since he also don't know when is the last class. So he changed his mind just want it to be a contribution / donation basis. You can just contribute some amount as and when you feel like giving. His class is open to anybody, everybody. Most of them are his students or students friends.
Actually, if I really wanted to go into Yoga, it is a MUST to have Yoga Therapy Cert. but of course, I am not a person who will siao for a cert (to me that can be later). I think knowledge is more impt than a piece of paper. Some of my yoga friend asked me not to waste my time in this course. They asked me to go for a proper course, proper cert and proper teacher. Hehe..... of course me this stubborn queen refuse lor.......
Why? Very simple, because I am very comfortable with this teacher lor..... his way of teaching is very 随性. No stress, No force, No expectation. He treat everyone as an adult, he let you do things that follow your heart / mind. But of course he also give homework. He will not mark on your homework but he will discuss on what had you done for your homework. He always encourage us to build up self motivation, self initative. His homework are Case study on Back / Neck / Knee pain and want us to form into a group. If you choose not to do it..... OK fine, No force. Then he always want us read. Finished a book in 1 mth time...... But of course No force also, if you don't feel like reading, then don't read...... hehe.... quite impossible to me to finish within a mth lor. It always take me very long time to finish it..... Hehe..... but he did say don't use a year to read a book it is toooooo Long.... Haha..... The last thing he want us to do is writing daliy journal. He want us to put things down in words.... but of course.... how many of us doing it? Hehehe.... :p
From young, I know I am not a academic person....... sitting down there listen to lecturer talking & talking & talking, I can't learnt much and I will yawn more. I am a person who is more towards hands on..... Projects alway score high marks and come to exam.... always.... hehe.... you know lah.....
So Jason's way of teaching is open concept. His class is always brainstorming and Q&A sessions. You can ask any questions in the class, no matter regarding Yoga or NOT yoga. If he can answer, he will answer you. If not, he will ask the rest of the student their opinion. Both teacher and students learn together and growth together. (this is one of the thing I wanted to learn - humble.) In life, our ego always bring us very high up in the sky, and forget to come down to the earth. So my aim is like Jason teacher also...... learn with my students and together we growth.
Of course open concept study, is abit difficult in a way, we need to keep jot down notes fast. After that go back home to revise, and rearrange the notes. But to me this should be the way we learn thing so still not a problem to me.
With his Q&A sessions, I get some benefits too. As a yoga teacher, sometimes I will face students asking me questions which I can't answer too! And sometimes, I need to answer them:" sorry, I don't have the answer. I will get back to you on this." Then go back home and do research..... hehe...... and of course if I go for class, I can get the answer faster by asking Jason in the class! Hehehe.....
Aiyo..... talk sooooo much still have not share on what I have learnt..... Ok, Ok... coming..... below info are base on my memory, my note is at home...... so agar agar one hor......:
Question from a student:
I realise many youngers at age of 20+ start taking glucosamine. Why? Is it good to take glucosamine?
Answer :
Must see lor..... how their parents bring them up. There are a few reason for this..... 1st is to see their nuritents intake since baby time till now. Nowsaday, the food that we take is not as nutritious as our grandparents or great grandparents time. The food or water that we take is polluted and even the air we breath are polluted too. Right now, our nuritents intake is about 30%-60% as compare to our grandparents time. There are more chemical process food in the market. And the chemical process food is lacking for nuritious, so don't take too much. It is necessary to take certain amount of supplement to replenish some losing nutrients.
And the other reason is the growing up process..... did their parents use walker while their kids learning walking? Walker will cause bow legs, it weaken their joints and muscles while they are growing. Our brain is very smart..... I registered alot of things since young time. For baby or infant or kids, we need to start train their brain to register things inside.
E.g walking. The way of walking and using the correct muscle to walk will start registered in our brain since we start to learn walking. If the infant always depend on walker to walk, their brain is not be well developed as they don't know which part of the muscle is used for walking. So from infant time, they started to use the wrong parts of muscle to walk, when it grow up their joints is the 1st to wear off.
And crawling is an impt process of growing up as well. It is like a warming up process before walking. If infant skip the crawling process, there is a tendency they have early joints wear off too. Same things as walking, crawling is training the infant to use the correct muscles, warm up the muscles, let the brain know "I am starting to develop my muscle." ..... let it registered into their brain for future use.
Another reason is the experience in life while growing up....... You will see some ppl have bow legs, and some have X legs...... All this is due to the stressness in life. There is a book mentioned that early knee joint wear off is mainly due to bad experience / abuse during their childhood. And for those wear off at old age is because of 生活压力. Although the load is on the shoulder, but when it presses it down, actually your knee joint is the one who supporting the whole weight.
And why some is bow legs and some is X legs, he wanted us to explore ourseleve.... is mainly due to character issue.
As for glucosamine, it is not necessary to take it. Reason why? Hum...... Sorry, I can't remember........ :p...... Hehe..... paisei...... I just know according to his opinion not necessary also..... reason really forget liao...... I will try to come back on this...... Hehehe........
Ok share until here...... Free lesson for you guys and gals..... if you already know it also nevermind........ Just want to share. :)
