Giant Grouper

Today, there is something suddenly strikes onto me to write this blog.

There was once a friend asked me “since you love diving so much, will you still take fishes / seafood?” And I replied “Yes, I do take them.” Then she added “my friend does not take them anymore since they like it so much.” And I was *daeeee........* (--)

Yes. I do have friends that didn't take seafood anymore after the dive. They said “Just now, we just saw them happily swimming in the sea and now we are going to eat them. It was like yucks.” Another *daeee..............* (--) again...... you win already lor.......... Haahaa........

Actually, I almost forgot about an incident that I really refused to take cooked fishes after I came back from the diving trip. The story started with.......... Once a upon a time, there was a young lady went for her diving trip ......... (long winded again)................

During one of my diving trip, I saw a very very big grouper. You can called it a 阿妈 / 阿公 Grouper OR you can called it a Gouper Jinx........... Anyway it was a Giant Grouper in short lah...... Hehe......... This Giant Grouper was about 1.2m to 1.5m long and was very fat also lah. Somewhere nearby it, there was a baby grouper which was about 0.8m long.

Normally, it was very difficult to spot a Giant Grouper. You need to have a pair of POWERFUL sharp eyes. It was because they were very good in hiding in between the corals. Their natural born skin tone made them camouflage very well. Then how do you spotted them? By looking at the movement of their Operculum (Gill Cover) then you can noticed them. When they were changing their breath their Operculum will move in and out. Grouper always look very unhappy. It seems like you owned them million thousand of dollar. They had thick到不可以的lips and a 大不可以的 “n” shape mouth that made them look very unhappy.

*aeeee......... why I am talking about this grouper ar? Hum? *

Oh! Yes! During that time I kept staring at this grouper and intend to take photo so I must fin slowly toward it. But the more I looked at it face, the more I felt scary. Because it face was like hey.............“I am very unhappy with you. You must had been owed me million thousand dollar before in your last life and you better pay your debts now”............. so this grouper face kept floating in my mind lor.

About a week later, back at home, my mum steam grouper fish head with chili gravy on top. At first, I was like Oh! Fish head! Yummy! (I love to take fish meats than other kind of meats) I started to take a few pieces........... But when I look at it head, I was like............. Suck.......... this fish head look like the very unhappy grouper fish which I saw during my dive trip. I started to scan through the fish head:- it spotted tone skin, it thick 到不可以的 lips and the very unhappy “n” shape mouth. Oh shit! My mind kept floating out it "alive" face, with the Operculum keep moving in and out......... then I tell my mum, sorry you had to finish the fish head yourself............... didn't feel like eating it anymore.

****actually, Giant Grouper is a very gentle fishes, they are very sensitive. When you intend to go close to them, your movement must be slow and gentle….. movement too big will drive them away so actually, don’t need to be afraid of them.****
