We took about 2.5 hrs to reach hotel (Airport custom slow + 1 hr journey + traffic jam). After we check in is about 5.00pm.
Outside all shops closed liao. In Mauritius, their working hour is from 9am to 3pm /4pm in winter and 9am to 4pm/5pm in Summer. But anyway, there isn't any shop houses along the street which we stay. Me and my sis called this place "鸟不生蛋的地方". hahaha....... It is not like Phuket or any other island. Once you walked out of the resort or hotel, there will be a street of shop houses and makan places.
We stay in Merville Hotel. It is a 3 star hotel. It has a resturant, swimming pool, spa and it own sea sport facilities. But hor.... even you stay in 5 star hotel or restort, it is still a 鸟不生蛋的地方...... haha......
We passed through a road, and it show a big sign board with an arrow...... "Le Méridien Hotel" ..... hehe.... when I look towards the arrow..... haha... I can't see any building. It is just a small lane without much street lamp. So can you imagine?
After check in, we go to the room and do some changing and out jia lan jia lan again. But hor..... where to go? Inside the resort lor. Went to check their spa pricing, went to check their sea sport facilities, the swimming pool and of course the resturant.
Actually, I am very hungry at that time, but their buffet dinner is serve at 7pm.... what a late dinner. (My package is half board, so dinner is included).
Then hor I know how come they have such a late dinner..... because all ladies or gentlemen at the resturant dressed up nicely and waiting to be served..... OMG!!!! Some even wearing night grown with heel. Men are more causal but they are sure in smart causal. OMG!!!! (ok, ok. I admit I am mountain tortoise lor!!!)
And you know what!!!! I am in shorts and long sleeves sweater leh! OMG!!! Actually, I did read a rule and regulation on a piece of paper..... indicated "no shorts and T-shirt allow in resturant" but the staff told me that apply for men only...... Hehehe........ But I did not bring my hawaii dress leh. Then how???
Aiya, anyway, they said that rule apply for men only mah.... so heck lah. Hehehe.... me bo chap one..... so everyday I still wear shorts with sweater at the resturant..... Hahaha..... :p
Although bo chap, but still observe the people in the resturant..... and haha.... finally found one lady wearing shorts with sleeveless top..... haha.... both of us look at each other and smile...... and I think she have the same thinking.... finally found someone similar and that is "we are wearing shorts"! Hahaha.......
Over the 3 days in this hotel, I feel eyes keep staring at my sis and I. Especially when we are in the restuarant, there are many many eyes keep looking at both of us. We thought that because we are wearing shorts, so they keep staring at us....... and finally, I got the answer. Because we are the only CHINESE in the hotel.... haha.
I found out from one of the staff in the resturant....... She ask me where I come from, and I tell her we are Singaporean. Then she said:" you are rare here." Hehe..... most of the tourist come from France, UK and certain part of European. You can easily find French here but NOT Chinese Tourtist here.
At one of the dinner, there is one very old couple. The wife is soooo curious about us..... (they just sit next table)....... then she start the conversation with us. "Hey girls, where you come from?" Of course we replied "we came from Singapore." Then.... hehe.... they give us a surprise look..... Oh! Singapore..... a nice place...... Then she asked about how many nights we stay, how long the flight, where we have been in Mauritius, where are we going after Mauritius....... etc... A very gentle and kind old lady..... :)
In average, I don't think Mauritius is a super nice place for me....... but it would be a super nice place for rest and relax. I am an active person. Normally, my holiday trip will not be RNR...... I don't really enjoy Rest and Relax in the hotel. I like to explore the country, the place, every corners, know as much as possible....... so everytime, my holiday is more tried than no holiday. Hehe.... I admit that I am a person who don't know what is RNR. But I am learning now...... I know my stamina going down when age catching.
But I believe I will still be back in this country. Reasons: Diving, explode the other parts of the island and is also a gateway to S.A as well. I did not say it is a BAD place for holiday hor.... don't mistaken hor...... Just that I feel there is a missing of something .... hum..... a missing of something HAPPENING! 少了一些兴奋剂！ Maybe next time I am there, I have different view again.

Outside the Surya Spa..... We really have a very good massage here. Our massage time is 6pm..... hehe... after doing it is about 7pm and the sky is already very dark like 8pm in Singapore. Worst thing is...... NO Street Lamp along the road! How to go back hotel????? Ended up ask the staff to call taxi...... and the dark is quite scary..... No street lamp, not much people walking around, not much vehicle on the road.... haha.
The pool side resturant. Every alternate night they have BBQ dinner. Mauritius is a very romantic place...... Maybe because it is French colony before. Their style is like French. At one of the dinner, there is this old man giving his wife a surprise in the resturant. Hehe.... very touch..... He ask the staff to prepare a birthday cake for his wife, then there is a guy playing guitar and singing birthday song....... Very drama, but real. Ang Mo are always so romantic.

Sugar cane flowers. When you see the flowers on top of the sugar cane, that mean is time to harvest.
They are drying sea water into eatable salts. The few baskets there are salts.

The plantation behind me is sugar canes. Sugar canes is one of their important revenue.
Their houses....... This country is more like certain remote parts of Malaysia, Kampong Kampong style. Some small lane don't even have street lamp.
