Cape town airport is very near to Capetonian Hotel. Is about 30 mins drive or less.
After checking into our hotel, it is about 1445. We decide to go Victoria and Alfred Waterfornt.
In South Africa, it is not a place for us to travel freely from one point to the other. It can be quite dangerous to travel by their public transport. Even the cab might not be very reliable at time.
But lucky, our travel agent did mention to us in Capetonian Hotel, they provide free shuttle bus through and from V&A Waterfornt. So we just need get a name card from the hotel and check with them the shuttle bus schedule.
The bus depart every hour and will pick up at V&A Waterfornt - Tower Clock. If we want to go back to the hotel, we must call the hotel and they arrange the pick up again. If not we must take public taxi back to hotel...... hum..... which we better not, especially it is at night.
Normally, when traveling, I preferred to take their local transport. I like to feel the way they live in their country..... But in S.A, NO you can't!
My brother had been staying in S.A for many years, so he know their culture quite well.
Before I left for my holiday, he keep MSN me...... he mentioned:
* Do not bring valuable things! Leave all at home (Singapore)!
* Ask Sis NOT to wear jewelries! Keep it at home!
* Do not leave valuable things in the hotel! Not even in your Baggage!
(Lately, they have FIFA Co-Fredation in S.A. The South Africa and USA teams rooms being break in and their valuables in the baggage also got stolen.)
* Do not go out at NIGHT!
* Try not to bring BIG handbag! Keep it as small as possible! Better still get a jacket which have many pockets, and keep your valuables in Jackets.
Actually, I am not very worry initially, but after a few MSNs......... 不怕都给吓怕！
He tell me alot of NO, NO, NO, NO and NO. Then every night he will call our hotel room to spot check whether are we back safely. So you can imagine how safety is this country?
But not to scare you too much too........ in V&A Waterfornt, it is still very safe. Reason : about every 1Km, there will be a patrol officer around. They are there days and nights..... so is quite safe there. Here is a tourist attraction, so they must be sure it is safe. (But about 10 years back, the hard rock cafe get BOOM.... hehe...... and this round I go again. That shop close down liao.)
安全中又有危险、危险中又有安全！ 复杂！ Very complicated.
The shuttle bus end at 10pm, so by 9pm we must make a last call. Every night we almost shop until 9pm then go back hotel....... hehe........ At least some night life, not like Mauritius. Hehehe....
The area around V&A Waterfornt. This place is quite big........ can 走到脚酸。 They have hotels, resturants, big big shopping mall, cinema, art & craft centre, aquarium and many things lah.... don't manage to finish walking at this area.

Ragged Tooth Shark. In S.A plenty of this shark. They are very fierce.
Always don't have the chance to meet one big shark in the open sea....... so watch it in the aquarium lor. 没有鱼虾也好。

Tell you..... I cold to death lor.... Hehehe....... Actually is the strong wind make you very cold lah.
At the jetty, waiting for boat to go seal island. Don't ever expect the seal island is a big lor...... To me, seal island is not the main dish here. The main dish is the 2 side scenery....... very beautiful lor.

On the way back, we spot this house. A house build under the mountain...... very nice.
If you see closely, at the hill top of this beautiful house, there are many poor people house. It is build by iron sheet...... but some are bricks as well...... is a mixture..... of poor and rich.........

This place is soooooo windy..... until I very buay tahan......... The wind is so windy until you can feel it is pushing you forward.

Cape town is sooooo windy all year round. That's why tall trees can't survive here. They only have bushes around the mountain. If you find trees, it is because many many many years back they import from Australia and plant it.

He is our tour guide for the 2nd day at Cape Town. Quite a professional guide, explaining things in details. He like photography and nature....... so he take good photos of us and explaining the plants and birds at Table mountain.

Cape town is surrounded by Table mountain..... so very funny, at any angle you take pics..... you can see table mountain as a background.
Having our lunch at Ostrich Farm........ Hehehe... We are taking ostrich meat...... Hum..... Ok lah, acceptable.
Here is the big bird. They have a very small brain, but they have a powerful leg so don't kanna kick by it. If chase by a ostrich...... hehe..... just go flat down on your tummy to protect yourself. Hum...... but the possibility to get chase by this big bird = ZERO.
