Dear Friends,
I'm helping out my friends to raise fund for a voluntary expedition trip to Bago, Myammar in December this year. Your kind gesture will go a long long way :)We have been flooded with many distressing news on cities struck by natural disasters recently. All these incidents somehow imply that we, humans, are not omnipotent. We cannot control when disaster will befall but we can always choose to lend a hand to the ones in need. Just like the story about the starfish goes - We can't possibly save all the starfish that had been swept ashore, but by reaching to one and put it back into the ocean, it makes a difference to that one. So, help to bring one more smile to the world.
Details as below:
Project Mingala.
As the name implies, the project seeks to bring "all the good things" to the underprivileged children and youths under the care of The Salvation Army in Myanmar and Singapore as well as the villagers in Bago.
This project which is being supported by National Youth Council, Singapore, covering the team up to 50% of the entire project cost. They hope to raise the remaining amount of S$18,000.
Currently the team is selling cookies from the Yellow Ribbon Project @ $10 per bag (300gm) to raise funds. Or if you are feeling philanthropic, any other amount of donation is welcome. An official receipt will be issued as an acknowledgment.
Funds raised will go to:
(1) Buying refurbishing materials (e.g. paint, equipment) and basic furniture (e.g. book shelves) for the tuition centre and library.
(2) Buying books, dictionaries, educational board games and a keyboard for the children.
(3) Sponsoring a day outing and meals for about 50 underprivileged children / youth beneficiaries.
(4) Sponsoring 2 underprivileged youths from The Salvation Army, Singapore to join them in this expedition.
(5) Team expedition costs e.g. medical, transportation and basic logistics needs* All team expedition project accounts will be audited and approved by the team's local endorsers – The Salvation Army (Administration), and FOCUS TNL Office (Finance).

You can contact me or my friends (emails as above) if you are intending to purchase the cookies or making a donation.
Thank you all.
Spread love :)
Yours sincerely,
Erica
